Has anyone installed the CS6 labs on a Windows 8 computer yet?

What do you mean with labs? Did you mean the red importer or is it something else. Im running cs6 on windows 8 for a few days.

Joel, yes, the red importer package. When I opened the labs and clicked on the red importer as instructed there were no instructions how to proceed. I checked the labs section for installation procedures but they only referred to Windows 7 which I've done a number of times. It seems the x86 folder may be different in Windows 8 than on Windows 7.

It should be the same foldrs as windows 7. I did the same i did in windows 7.

Thanks for the conformation. I just finished clicking on the Importer Red Server and got an error message that a "dvacore.dll is missing from my computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

Not sure they mean to re-install Windows 8 or CS6 apps but at least I now know where the problem lies.

I appreciate the help.

What do you mean by clicking on the redimport server? I do paste and replace it. Never clicked on it.

Yes, you are right. I just saw it was an application and clicked on it to see what would happen.

But finally it occurred to me that I installed CS6 as an upgrade to CS5.5 without going to the trouble of actually installing CS5.5 (this is a new computer build.) I had done a search for Importer Red on the computer and nothing showed up. I solved my problem (I think... haven't loaded any 5k footage yet) by looking at another computer with the labs installed correctly and copying and pasting the Importer Red and Importer Red Server in the proper places.

Just for anyone's general information when I misidentified my problem and searched for an answer I learned something that may be useful.

I went looking on the Internet for a fix for a broken dvacore.dll and found that previously some Adobe users had problems with AME not working due to the dvacore.dll becoming damaged somehow. One individual (can't remember his name to give him credit) fixed his problem by copying the dvacore.dll from Premiere and using that to replace the one in AME. The discussion took place back when Adobe was at the CS4 stage of development and for all I know Premiere and AME may use common dlls now. But at the time a lot of posters on whatever forum that was, were thanking the OP for solving their problem with AME.

I know some here had AME problems before and I'm thinking this may be another arrow in the quiver to shoot at a problem.
