Its probably worth $550 on the low end. $600 seems fair too, if its in good condition. As these lenses get more and more rare, I'm sure the prices will go up. It wouldn't surprise if this lens is worth $1k in 5 years.

Minus the visible distortion on the wide end, this lens was designed to rival primes for sharpness. As far as zooms go, it's excellent, covers full frame, and has that wonderful older Zeiss T coating. Also the range is perfect (28 to 85), and the focus throw is startling for a zoom. Easily way over 180. Also the close focus at 28 is pretty crazy. Even closer than the 28 2.8 prime, and probably rivaling the 28 f2. It just doesn't look as crazy bonkers as the 28 f2 which wide open and close focusing gets super shallow and awesome.

Good luck with the sale.

If this lens wasn't push pull it would be an instant cinematography classic.

What mount does it have? Do these hook straight into normal PL or do you need an adapter? I was reading a lot of the older lenses use Standard Mounts instead so I was wondering what people do in general to convert these older lenses and to what mount (I have Al Nikkor but want to move into PL)? Thanks

(just read your ebay, so you use an adapter to EoS?)

It's a stills lens, and it's C/Y mount. Most common ways to get it on RED are to get a C/Y to EOS adapter, or to use the All-Star system.
