remote use of side handle

so here's a random question for you all - i have a docu shoot to do in a few months and will be shooting with my scarlet mainly on my shoulder in run and gun mode - is there a way of mounting the side handle on the camera bars so i can have easy access to all the menu items and lens control in a similar way to an ENG lens without having to change my grip on the camera?? Has any clever person out there already worked out a way to do this..? Obviously there is the issue of the 'hotshoe' style connection to the camera body to be worked out...

There is some info on this board for a couple of people who have done this via a custom cable. Grid were looking in to it at one time.
