I finally got my A-box and I can see that there is sound looking at the levels, but can't hear anything
through my headphones. I put the level to max. I even hOoked up my samurai and could hear sound when I plugged my headphones into the Samurai. What am I doing wrong?

Have you checked the setting to make sure the audio volume is up on the headphone jack?

Using the latest release firmware (not beta). I set the volume to max on monitor out. Is there anywhere else I can control the headphone jack?

I've read the manual, and as stated above I have set up my levels to the max using the UI menu under Audio - volume out. If there is something else I've overlooked, I would be happy to get some info

I tried the jack on two different days, but never tried a restart. I'll see how it goes today, but I have my doubts

Joachim..

Just to cover all the bases.. I assume that by "can't hear anything" you actually mean nothing, and not a small sound or crackling-type of sound?
And are they typical headphones? Not cleverly-wired studio monitor types that i've met before!? Have you tried a different set of headphones to eliminate that possibility?
What about checking the audio level in the camera? If its coming out of there ok then it has to be the A-box...
Is the camera/A-box connection a home-made lead or commercial one and can you try an alternative to eliminate this?

Silly little checks and apologies if already checked...

Hi Simon
I tried with a pair of Koss porta pro as well as the sound guys Senneheizer (not sure which model), and I hear nothing. No crackle or hiss, but I can hear everything fine when I plug the headphones into my Samurai, which is hooked up to the Epic over HDSDI.
the A-box is by Wooden Camera and that seems to be working fine as I can monitor sound using the Samurai.
Im starting to dread that its the Epic's headphone out that is not working.
