I went to use my R1 MX today and tried to mount my lens onto it but the mount won't even turn. I literally used it two days ago and had no problem turning the mount to place and remove the lens. Since then the camera has sat in the box until today and when I replaced the cap two days ago I definitely did not over tighten the locking ring. Now it just won't turn without having to lightly hammer it.

Anyone experience this or know of any possible causes for this?

If its just a stuck ring that you feel is just very tight its either send it to a workshop to free up your self.

If your confident its just too tight and theres no pother issues going on and cant move by hand then Ive seen a workshop move the mount ring with what appears to be a rubber band a lever, its the sort of thing that is used to hold pipes or large round objects. Its gentle on clamping the mount but can apply a bit more controlled leverage than you can by hand. Id not hammer it though. Red might have some better ideas.

What lens are you using. Some lenses have slightly thicker flanges than standard Arri PL, which could cause problems.

Thanks for the replies guys. It turns out my friend did indeed over tighten the locking ring. We loosened it with a bit of grease and a lot of brute force.
