You can buy a set of 5 for anywhere between $30,000 and $35,000 if you can find them (and not the sets marked up by resellers). That's for a set of 5. A friend just bought a set for $32,000 for 5 and tested by Duclos to be in great shape.

Not trying to negate your price, just giving an idea of the market since you don't see them too often. I personally love SuperSpeeds and I think whoever buys it will enjoy it. Best of luck with the sale.

Kindly speaking... you're delusional ;)

I been lookin for a set of MkIIIs diligently for 4 months, private and threw "the marked up resellers" wich mark up like 5K , not 30K ;)

Sets of MKiiis be it private or brokered are going for between 45K - 60K sad but true boys and girls...

7500 for one MKIII lens a'int a bad price... I would know... 4 months of homework aint no joke :(

Oh ya... here's some images from the lenses: https://vimeo.com/36888171

delusional, no... But thanks for the snide remark.

I'm just telling you what I have found. Believe it or not... If you honestly think market value for a set of lenses discontinued in the 80's is worth the same price as Ultra Primes think again, your delusional. Sellers can ask whatever they want, doesn't mean anyone will buy them. These lenses were going for $20,000 when the R1 was released in 2007. So yes, 60K is a huge markup. If you also think MKIII's are worth $25k more than MKII's, your delusional. 6 years of homework isn't a joke.

Good luck with the sale.

It was a joke, hence the winkey face ;) after it... lighten up there Mr Ryan... with all due respect... no "snide remarks" here... Im a good boy...

Ultra primes are 60-70K and ya unfortunately... it is what it is... Again.. Speed MkIIIs are going for between 45-60K :(

and "I think market value" is the price in the market people are paying... not the price that someone sold them for 30 years ago... sad but true...

and MKiis are going for between 30 and 40 :( so I dont know... I just know that this.. lens is below market value... Hey... if you would e been the nice guy sayin in private, can i get this lens for 5K who knows... maybe i would a said cool... but Im always gonna react adversaly (maybe with humor) when someone comes in trying to negate my price and then states that they weren't trying to negate my price, and then says "good luck with your sale" when they aren't even lookin for lenses in the first place ;)

Ill tell you what... you go out there and find me 2 sets of MKiiis in good condition for 30K and ill buy them both right now resell them and give you a 5K broker fee :)

I feel like the milks gone bad on this here thread... maybe Ill have to repost it for 7500 again here tomorrow.

Kindest regards,

-Avi Cohen

I can buy a brand new Cooke Pan-errr 'Mini S4' for that price. Is this a joke?

If you can find sets of MKIII Superspeeds for $30K, buy and resell them. Some people are successfully selling them for over twice that. I've had $35K offers for my MKI Superspeeds.

Who is successfully selling MKIIIs for 60k? Just because someone offers you 35k for MKI's doesn't mean they'll deliver the cash.

MKIII's go for 42-55k in todays market in Los Angeles. So $7500 for a 50mm MKII Super Speed is quite reasonable. The 50, 65 and 85 are also the better lenses of the set.

Avi, depends on the market. LA, 45k-55k is reasonable. Those selling for 60k must be selling to rich collectors... I don't understand it. It is sad but maybe not ABSOLUTELY true.

Yeah it's not bad.

Avi,

I can find you MKIIIs, not at 30k but if you need some send me a line and I'll see what's out there for ya.

Avi, guess next time you might not want to post your add with a question mark at the end. hahahaha

All I gotta do is PM you for a $2500 price discount?

Yeah it's not bad.

I was just rounding off... I been seein em go for between 45K and 58K for like really almost 6 months now... Got the RSS reader super dialed in...

But ya ya.. sad but true my friends... it is what it is... and I still stand by my case that 7500 is a good price... about 1 - 4K below market value...

And ya ya to the fella that said somethin about the Pancoos/Mini S4s... it is a dilemma my friend.. go with a slightly softer lens that has a 30 year established name in the market that opens to 1.3 or a brand new lens from a great manufacture that hasn't really found its place in the market because of the name thing or whatever reason and speeds up too a 2.8 for the same price... 6 lenses over 5, blah blah blah... its all semantics @ some point and comes down to personal preference...

I thought about it log and hard before I made my choice to get my 2 sets of speeds... and am happy with my choice...

PS Last but not least... for whatever its worth the whole "Good price no?" in the title was rhetorical.. it wasn't really intended to have a barrage of naysayers chime in... as anyone that knows the market... knows that 7500 x 5 is 37500 and most likely below the prices of any set of MkIIIs they seen for a long time... but that's what I get I guess ;)

$7500 GOOD PRICE, NO?

no.

Thanks

Yeah, thats why I said if you can find them and from private sellers. The broker sites are asking $50,000-60,000 for a set of MKIII's.

PS I love how you just edited and deleted ALL your posts... that I quoted you on ;)

Now this thread is soooooo confusing to read, lol..

To be honest, I am not sure why the Super Speeds are selling for more than K35's. Those go for around 35-40,000 a set and seem sharper wide open to my eyes.
I have seen plenty of SS MK II's sets in that same range, but maybe not Mark III's. Start pushin 60K and heck I would rather lose the stop (soft anyway) and go for some ultra's for greater rentability.
