Bad news, we were not a finalist. Good news, our Doritos Superbowl Ad is now available on youtube in FULL 4K QUALITY. If your computer is strong enough to play it in 4K (mine is not), select ORIGINAL in the settings. If it is too choppy, you can still watch it in 1080p HD. Also please subscribe to my page to see our other videos. Enjoy.

Are you sure? When did they change that. My computer plays 2K pretty smoothly, but the 4K version I uploaded plays almost exactly like the original one on youtube. Thank you for the update though.

It is 4K if you select original. I just downloaded the video file from back from youtube and the resolution shows 4096x2304. You can also tell the difference in how long the video takes to play. In 1080p, it plays much faster than it does in 4K Original. I have a few other videos on my channel that are 2K that stream at about the same speed as the 1080p version. I attached a screen shot to show the file that I downloaded back from youtube.

Your downloaded file might be 4k but the youtube stream is definitely 2048 x 1536 right click on the video and choose video info.

Quicktime is showing the resolution of the "Original" version to be 4096x2304. I guess YouTube is back in the 4K game...unless they limit the stream to 2K when playing back from their player.

If that's true, opening the link to the video in Quicktime yields the true original. Plus, you get the advantage of frame-by-frame advancements.

It's true that it shows 2048x1536 when you right click, but there are a few things that make me believe that it is in 4K:
- The download speed is quite a bit slower and the video quality is a lot choppier on Original than it is in 1080p in this video, but on some of my other videos that I uploaded in 2K, those run just about as smooth as 1080p as they do in Original.
- I checked out several other 4K resolution videos on youtube, including the 4K version of THE HOBBIT trailer, and they all read 2048x1536 as well, but there was a clear difference in the download speed and picture quality from Original to 1080p
- As Brian said, Quicktime and the download versions playing at 4096x2304, but I could be wrong about that.
Either way, I am glad this brought up some good questions and their is a clear enough difference between Original and 1080p to believe that it is in 4K.

I just started a new topic with this info, but figured I would post it here since the discussion came up during this thread.
I am almost certain that Youtube is streaming in 4K as long as it is uploaded in 4K and Original resolution is selected. I just uploaded a 4K version of this short film called FREAKY FLY that I uploaded in 2K a few months ago, and even though the video info shows 2048x1536 on both when they are playing, there is a clear difference in the streaming speed and clarity between the Original 2K version I uploaded in June and the newer 4K version I uploaded today. Also, downloading the video file back from Youtube shows the resolution at 4096x2304.
