Season's Greetings all,

Thought I'd share some grabs from a Discovery Channel shoot a couple of weeks ago at Tiger Beach in the Bahamas. Some of the most astonishingly beautiful oceanic predators on the planet, what better way to image them, than with Epic.

I was very privileged to shoot with a brand new prototype underwater housing, the Amphibico Rouge, currently the only housing to implement full control of all Epic functions underwater.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Jim, Jarred, and all the amazing folks at Red, stuff like this just would not be possible without the genius they display on a regular basis. Almost effortlessly it seems, although I'm sure the BTS at Red is probably somewhat more involved :coolgleamA:.

Happy Holidays to all my fellow Redusers, keep those mind-blowing images coming, what a journey this has turned out to be!

Best,

Tom

WTF are u talking about?
I've seen lots of shots of people using expensive gear underwater the way you are here, just always wondered if the camera is secured to the shooter or if it's freehanded. Obviously you're in crystal clear water here, but if it were deeper and murkier and it was accidentally dropped, I imagine an Epic sinks like a stone! It was just a case of my overactive imagination and my sense of always thinking the worst. Sorry for the confusion.

Drugs are for pain, not for comfort.
Ha! A wise man once said, "there's a time and a place for everything. And it's called college."

Haha, good one Tim, my college days are kind of a blur too.

The camera is neutrally buoyant, if you let it go, it just stays where it is. Tigers have been known to grab cameras out of divers' hands, the electronic signature confuses them I guess, so not really sure a tether is a good idea.

Thanks very much Scott, will try to find out air dates and let u know.

Cheers

What does this statement mean exactly?

Ryan, not sure exactly what your asking here. If you mean, does this housing give you full control of the camera? Then yes, the answer is, an unqualified yes.

RS232 control allows you to navigate through all Epic menus, select and control as you see fit. You can assign any function, tailor the housing to your needs.

I will post a thorough description on how-to's for this housing in a couple of weeks.
