  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Unscrewing the tiny top back screws? with the heatsync?

I'm trying to install the Viewfactor top-plate which seems requires you to unscrew the heatsync ontop of the Scarlet. There are these tiny little "Star" pattern screws at the top and I was able to get 2 of them un-done but the other two near the back seem very tight and no tool I use is able to get them un-done...

Also my BT Scarlet did not come with the appropriate tool/size.

Any ideas? Anyone else had this issue?

On my Scarlet it is a T9.

I assume they wouldn't change the screw size for different Scarlets.

Okay now, after removing the top-plate I tried to screw the FMJ top plate (2 big screws in front and 4 at back) the 4 at back keep turning and turning, they wouldn't screw in.. but somehow they caught?? and now won't come off either. Essentially the Plate is now stuck on my camera, won't screw in all the way or come undone..

Super annoyed. Did I miss something? This didn't come with any instructions, seemed pretty straight forward?!?

Gah finally, the thread on the actual heads of the screws were slightly diff sizes and the tool was slipping inside of it.

Is there seriously a thread on reduser about not being able to operate machine screws? Face. Palm.

Don't worry about Nick, Vladimir. It happens. Putting on accessories can sometimes be a pain.

Glad you got it worked out.
