Hi Guys,

after reading Ketch's travel post and seeing what great work a few red users coming together can do...like Joseph and the Skydive Crew in Dubai... I thought it could be a nice idea to start a post where red camera owners from different countries can offer collaborations and resources. I'm sure there are a lot of us out there who live in amazing places that would be interesting for other red users to visit and shoot at but they might not have had the possibilities in the past because they dont know people with gear or connections or local knowledge in that particular place. Lets face it....one epic is amazing....but two or more are even bigger fun...plus its always great to meet and work with new creative people and play of each others creativity. Even if you dont own any camera gear, I'm sure editors, sfx artists, color graders and other people with amazing talents are traveling all the time and would be keen to create something in a new place with new people.

Myself for example, I am based on the Gold Coast in tropical Queensland Australia....a place that offers amazing natural locations, ranging from beautiful beaches & coral reefs to lush rain forests with amazing waterfalls and unique wildlife. A time-lapse shooters dream.
If anyone is keen to come to Australia or has already booked a trip there and would like to meet up with other red users or plan a collaboration, feel free to get in touch anytime.

Maybe this thread can help to make a few international collaborations happen amongst red users.

Definitely great idea Dominik, only thing I need to specify, that while al others were collaboration I put together thanks to the incredible responses here on Reduser from fellow Filmmakers, the Dubai work from last year out of which we did the Skydive Dubai 2012 4k video, I was actually hired to do that, and in turn I hired all the crew, Joseph included, as it would not have been possible, or not an easy collaboration to say the list to achieve that kind of material without a budget and or serious power as I/we had in Dubai last year.

Other then that, I applaud your idea, and I my self continue to do collaborations when I can, even so time is becoming ever less for me, but I enjoy immensely shooting and meeting new friends in beautiful locations around the world, so I'll always try to find time for it... Hopefully one of this times will be to shoot beautiful Australia with you... ;

Dominik,

We'll add our names to the list. We have a central location here on Ambergris Caye, in Belize, Central America. Obviously, the country has received quite a bit of press in the last several weeks. No doubt we will see a made for TV movie coming in our future (insert sarcasm here)....

In all seriousness, our country is a top destination for a wide variety of "exotic" and "conservation-oriented" shoots and programming. We too share an incredible geographical diversity (rain forests, mountains, maya archeology, coastal mangroves, and the largest barrier reef in our hemisphere). Historically, we have offered "destination management" services for folks looking to shoot in-country.

Although we weren't involved, Kate Upton was just here shooting the Beach Bunny Swimwear campaign.

United/(continental) offers daily non-stops from Houston (IAH - BZE) --- what most people don't realize is that it takes longer to fly from Houston to Chicago than it does from Houston to Belize. Ketch makes a good point, moving around these remote locations does require significant budgets - literally planes, vans, boats, and barges...

We too are open to collaborations.

Cheers

Belize is a beautiful looking country. I hope to visit one day.

Looking forward to it :)

Lucky man Jack, Belize looks amazing !

yes remote locations can be expensive, then again, you might be able to shave off significant costs if you know a local who's in the same industry as you are. I for one would have no problem showing fellow shooters around or putting them up in small home stays that aren't expensive at all once you know how to find them :0 hopefully this thread can help.

We are probably the biggest (best equipped) studio and rental facility in Tasmania located on a 200 acre private nature reserve in the middle of Freycinet National Park: half way between Hobart and Launceston, surrounded with pristine white sandy beaches, turquoise blue water, Hazard mountins and bushland settings teaming with wildlife.

We can provide location, rental and logistical support and assistance with obtaining permits. We can provide fully-featured, high-end 3D setups for topside and underwater.

We run cinematography courses with subjects ranging from optics to stereography and can accomodate all levels from beginners to experienced-pros.
