  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 4 is almost here....

Love the innovating and keepin' on keepin' on. EVF mount is great kit. +1 Module is going to sell -I hope you build a bunch before they hit the Red Store!
 
Please tell us there are some rack focus options coming. I really want to be able to control the timing of the focus pull.

Maybe just divide it into two modes:

EXPERT - for DP's that really want to know what the tool does and dig in
NOVICE - for DP's who want limited control for filming purposes only.


Many of the menus serve AC functions or things you need when diving into syncing a 3d rig, tc, sync, etc...

It's obvious that a user programable menu display would be best IE:

IMAGE CAPTURE MODE - Limited menu systems driven by what operators need and want
CAMERA SETUP MODE - Stuff like Black shading that you need to access less often than say framerates.
EXPERT MODE - all things technical

An AC and an operator want to see very different things at different times in the production, right now, you see everything all the tim (personally i like that but I can appreciate people who want less clutter around the image.

I guess it just depends on how easy or difficult that would be to implement.

I also hope to 1 button return of with menus/without menus on the LCD will return like in the good old red one days. Now it's a cycle through to many modes, that's a example of something that can be easier. Just a menus on/off cycle option, should be easy to implement :)

crap I can't keep up with all the posts.... everytime I jump to the next page 2 more pages of comments pop up...
 
+1 on wanting to know if we'll be able to zoom in for focus while recording. Can't remember if that's ever been answered.

This is huge for those of us who enjoy shooting doc style.

That new lightweight hardware will be fun to play with too!

Personally,
I would prefer it didn't take three seconds to hit magnify to see the magnification(i might be exaggerating a bit but it seems that long). In recent builds the zoom function is dog slow. If zoom magnify can not happen while recording then I hope it's MUCH MORE responsive than it currently is.
