Hey Guys,

Struggling on an Adobe Premiere Pro Issue and hopefully you can be of help.

I have a project shot on Red and stored on an external hard drive. I have been editing the project via the native .r3d files within Premiere Pro CS6 on a custom built PC. Everything works fine on my main editing system. When I plug my external hard drive into my laptop or into my backup comp, the project loads just fine. All of the sequences and files are there, I can scrub the timeline and hear the audio. Some AVI files rendered out from After Effects plays fine. However all of the .R3Ds and PSD files are not showing up, it just shows nothing as if it can't load the visual, the audio plays fine... This has happened with multiple projects.

Troubleshooting: What I've tried so far.

Making Footage off line and Reconnecting it: Result stays the same

Deleting all cache, render, etc files: Result stays the same.

Same results on two different computers.

The footage (.R3D Files) opens perfectly fine in new projects.

Any help you guys can offer would be really appreciated, I really need to find a solution quickly.

Tyler,

My team has been on the phone with Adobe at least three times
this week for several hours...Adobe promised they would have
a solution withing 48 hours...that was 72 hours or more ago. Also,
the projects now do not play on any of our multiple computers
if the RedRocket is on. Very bad for us as we have just finished a
huge shoot in Italy and would prefer to edit in CS6 with the help
of the Rockets and ability to work between multiple workstations.

Yikes. Ya it is a HUGE workflow issue...

Please let me know if I can help at all with Adobe or provide any more information. Please keep me updated on when they get back to you.

Thanks!

Not sure if this will work, but have you tried creating a new project, and importing the old project or old sequence in the new one?

And just a shot in the dark here, but perhaps you can also try importing the sequence in After Effects, then copy and paste the timeline into Premiere.

Good Ideas. I did try that actually. I started a new project and copy and pasted the project folder from the original project. But same result. It's odd...

Hmmm, I'll have to try the After Effects way though, you never know.

My sunday night tip. Search your cache folders for .ims files. Delete all of them and try again. Let me know if that helps. Also please make sure you have the same version of the red plugin installed on both computers.

Cheers

Dave

(p.s. Sorry I have been sparse! We are very busy recently!)

Any success in finding a solution for this issue yet?

Dealing with it myself right now on a large feature film project.

Let us know if you discover anything...

Thanks!

I find the plugins to be the usual culprit in red related problems....

If that is not the case can you dissect it more...
will a fresh project on the laptop import and play R3d files?
Is it just this project giving you grief?
