If there is anyone familiar with the stainless steel ARRI-Mount flavour of this older zoom lens, advice is sought regarding the size and thread pitch of the four countersumk rearward facing screws which attach the stainless rear portion of the mount to the black anodised front section which attaches to the rear of the lens with a threaded collar. I am working out a means of attaching this lens to a Canon EOS 7D camera. Why ? well like the mountain - because it is there. The simplest method appears to be the route M42/Canon EOS adaptor and either a shorter rear shoulder fashioned simillarly to the original ARRI B mount but shorter and wider for the M42 thread, or an entire replacement of the black and stainless two-piece assembly with a tube internally threaded at the lens end and externally threaded at the camera end for the M42 mount adaptor..

If anyone knows of an existing readymade adaptor, info would be appreciated.

It's likely that the rear element or parts of the B mount will hit the 7d's mirror.

If you have a Arri Bayonet to PL adapter and a PL to EF adapter you should be able to get it on there well enough to try it out. I've got those things in LA, CA if you want to give it a shot.

The ARRI B-mount tail will interfere with the 7D mirror.

How the 7D attachment can be achieved is pretty much planned out along two options. The screws are the key to the easier option. Both arrangements will work according to the designs drawn up. The actual optics of the Angenieux lens are far enough forward as is the rearmost core structure. That much has been assessed with the lens and camera on a jig.
