  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Motion Picture Lens Database

Not to bug anyone anymore then normal by revive this old thread, but I'm trying to do some long term lens investments and want to make sure I get my math right ... assuming i eventually move to a Dragon sensor.

So when I do my math for the dragon sensor, as long as the image circle in these charts is great then 34.53 I will not have vignetting. If the image circle is smaller then 34.53, i will have vignetting at 6k(i.e. unless i'm shooting at 4:3). So when I do the math, this is saying almost all the cooke lenses will vignette at 34.53, except the S4's that are greater then 32mm lens size(i.e. if i'm buying a lens for the next 3 years use, i don't want to get a s5 or panchro, but if i like the cooke look i should lean to the 32mm plus sizes of the s4's). On the Master Primes i'm perty safe as long as the lens is greater then 21mm. Am I reading this right? I am also possibly thinking of just shooting the dragon at 5k for the next three years, and just getting deals on lenses as the big guys move up to modern lenses.

I believe the Zeiss Super Speeds MKII/III have a 135mm
