I shot a movie last year with a red one using redcode 36 & 4K 16x9 - i now have to shoot some pick-up shots and being the proud owner of a scarlet will be using that - how does the 'new style' ratio system equate to the the redcode? ie what settings do i use on the scarlet to get the same picture quality to match the red one footage? thanks in advance..

RC36 equals something like RC9:1 and the equal to RC42 is RC7,5:1, if i remember correctly. A more important part for shooting matching footage will be the choice of lenses and things like lighting/exposure. The compression ratio plays a smaller part here. So i would suggest to just shoot the best possible quality, which will be 6:1 at 4k on a Scarlet. Get the best image you can, its a movie, a big project, right? ;) You can always filter the image if it has too much details, but i doubt it will look dramatically different just because of a better compression ratio.
