Hey guys. I remember when the Epic reportedly booted in 8-9 seconds. I noticed here on set that it seemed to be taking longer, so I timed the 2 Epics here on set, and I'm getting 15-17 seconds on both of them using the newest builds.
Is the boot time in fact getting slower with the newer builds? It's not a deal breaker, but there are some live events where 7-8 seconds can make a huge difference.

Have not timed mine, but I also noticed a longer boot time on a shoot last week after moving to latest release build. Interesting.

Yep, been noticing it over the last few builds. As you say, not a dealbreaker but that <10 second boot certainly was nice when the pressure was on!

Yes. But this is happening with other camera platforms as well. Alexa has gotten slower in its boot time as features get enabled. More features, more code, more time to boot. It's either that or have everything hardwired with no firmware upgrades.

while it does boot slower, i have found the menu responsiveness and over all speed of navigation faster than the last build.

Having a Redvolt battery in the side handle is a good way to switch the V-Lock batteries without having to turn off the camera. Good trick when you can't afford to lose 20 seconds while the camera is rebooting... ;)
