  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED Station Mini not reading 256gb SSD

Has anyone encountered this?

I've got a brand new RED Station Mini that will read 128gb cards just fine, but not the 256gb cards. Disk Utility doesn't see it, the little red light on the front doesn't blink when a card is inserted, I've switched cables, tried powered and un-powered FW800, restarted the computer, tried different variations of plugging things in and turning things on in different orders.

The card plays back in camera, and is read by the normal RED Station reader (footage is all fine), just not on the RED Station Mini.

Thoughts?
 
Very strange. Suggest you call red technical support. FYI - be wary when adding the AC power to bus powered data cables like FW & USB3, it can potentially over volt the device.
