We installed Avid MC 6.0.3 on a Retina 10.8.1 MBP.
Using a Sonnet Echo Express Pro expansion chassis along with a Sonnet Tempo SSD Pro SSD PCI card (holds two SSDs) we ran into a weird problem during tests.
First off I copied some R3Ds in full folder structure at the root of the Tempo PCI card.
Then read the files from Avid as AMA.
Everything looked fine in Avid MC during tests.
Then I decided to check the Media Creation option.
I shut off the System and Network volumes options for drive used and noticed the Tempo card shows up in the drive options.
I didn't bother to check if they actually work at first.
Then when I decided to create a transition I got that error that there are no drives to render too.
And it tried to force itself onto the system drive.
The Tempo SSD disappeared from the Media Creation option at this point.
After playing around with all that, I decided to delete everything and start from scratch.
It seems the AMA was playing tricks on that Tempo SSD volume and treated it like a mounted discs similiar to XDCAM discs back in the day.
Now that I figured that I thought I was golden until I tried to convert R3Ds from RCXPro.
The export option would stop exporting at first frame when trying to use that Tempo SSD volume.
I keep thinking drive perms but went through that a few too many times and still no go.
Seems like long question so hopefully someone here can share some tips and ideas to get around this problem.
Thanks in advance
