Hi!

I just want to show my new DIT Case, custom build. These are the specs;

Macbook Pro 15" i7 2,2Ghz (now 4 gb RAM, soon to the max 8gb, also a SSD drive to run the software on)
Lacie Thunderbolt/Esata Hub
Sonnet Echo Pro reader for the Alexa
Red SSD mini reader for RED/SCARLET/EPIC
Other Connectors; 2x FW800, 2x ESata, 2X USB2.0

In the back there are 2 sockets for powering the Hard disks, no internal HD.
Two fans, one on the back for air into the case, and one under the laptop for cooling the macbook.
One cable to power all inside and the hard disks.

Let me know what you think!

Very cool. Love the design.

The only thing I would be worried about is letting dirt get into the redmag reader since the opening is situated outside.

Cool. Did you do the panel yourself? How did you "attach" the eSATA connectors?

I would be worried about the components sticking out as much as they do (judging from the pictures - maybe they are protected enough?) - we all know sets can be rough place and I would be constantly worried, especially when putting the case in a van with other, heavier equipment. Also, how's the airflow? Where's all the heat going?

BTW: this thread should go into the "Post Production HARDWARE" thread - maybe a mod can move it?

This looks pretty amazing...

As others have mentioned, port exposure would be my only concern. But would it be possible to install some sort of hinged cover that keeps out the elements and protects those ports on the side? Something like a clear lid from smaller pelican cases, still keeping flush with the existing ridge of the case...

Really nice work. Any shots of the insides you care to share?

Thanks for the comments!

I am still thinking about a cover system for the connectors on the side. It should be easy to remove.
I think the total, exclude the Macbook Pro, it should be around 1200/1300 euro... $1500 US Dollars?

thanks!
