Second chance to win this lens!
NOTE:*I originally had this item up for sale a few weeks ago on ebay and it sold for $5,100 (see last image on ebay). I have had to re-list this item due to a non-payment from a foreign party whom won the auction and didn't come through on payment. If you are planning to bid on this item from outside of the United States, you must communicate with me beforehand. Also, please make sure you have the funds to pay for the item within three days of auctions end. Thank you.*
I have a brand new ZEISS 8mm T1.3 Ultra16 Arri PL mount prime lens for sale. The start price on ebay is $3,799. As you can see in the ebay listing below, I purchased this lens new from Arri a few months ago. It has not been used. There is also a copy of the receipt from ARRI with matching serials numbers.
For those of you that aren't familiar with these lenses, they are basically Ultra Primes / Master Primes for Super16mm. The list price of this lens was around $17,000. This is a great deal for someone looking for a very fast lens to shoot high speed wide angle 2k material with a EPIC, RED or SCARLET. It will cover a bit more than 2k, but I have not tested that myself. Read below the statements from another individual that tested this lens on a lens projector and verified that it covers the larger Black Magic Cinema Camera sensor at all stops (but again, verify that particular yourself. It may just be an added benefit above the 2K. I have not done that test myself).
Thanks,
Todd

Original Ebay listing copy below:
"Up for sale is a "brand new"* ZEISS 8MM T1.3 Ultra 16 ARRI PL mount lens. I purchased this lens new myself direct from ARRI of New York this last August (see the attached invoice for verification of this in the last picture). It has not been used and contains the original box it was shipped in, with matching serial numbers on the box, invoice and lens. I actually purchased five Ultra 16 lenses from Arri, but I am letting go of the 8mm as it is wider than I generally need for the projects I usually shoot. This is your chance to great a great deal on one of the best cinema lenses manufactured.
The list price of this lens from ARRI is $16,900 (13,000 Euros). See an attached screen capture of the page from the Arri catalog for the* verification of this price (second image from the last).
Is should also be noted that all the images in this listing are of the actual item up for sale.
The build quality of this lens is phenomenal. This is not a lesser quality Zeiss Compact Prime lens, but a true cinema lens that with a design based on the ARRI / ZEISS Master Primes and Ultra Primes. Some features of the lens: It is super fast at T1.3 with internal focusing and a 95mm front. And of course it has a incredibly long focus throw and wonderful witness marks for pulling focus. It is silky smooth and incredible to work with.
Whilst this lens was designed for shooting Super16mm film productions, it is a great lens for shooting digital on a number of 2K cameras. Possible cameras are the RED one in 2k mode, the RED EPIC, and the RED SCARLET. To achieved the highest frame rates in many of the before mentioned cameras, you have to use a crop of the sensor. As you know, in doing so, trying to find wide and fast 35mm lenses is not very possible. This is a perfect fit for such a situation.
This lens is also a good fit for the Ikonskop, the upcoming Digital Bolex, and if you read the information below, this lens "may" cover the sensor on the newly released BLACK MAGIC CINEMA CAMERA. I personally have not confirmed the coverage, but I emailed another Los Angeles based seller (ebay seller "gravitygiant") whom has this same lens listed (at below list price for $11,000), and he had taken the lens to a lens projector at Panavision and determined that this lens will cover the Black Magic Sensor which is $23% larger than Super16mm (see his exact quote below)
"Yes, I put them up on the projector at Panavision and we determined that they will cover the Black Magic Sensor which is 23% larger than Super 16. the 6mm is the tightest but will still clear. One thing about these lenses that is fantastic is that the coverage doesn't change at all with different iris position so they work even stopped down."
The ebay item number for the lens he is selling (with a similar quote) is as follows: ebay Item number: 180918390524
Again, if you are purchasing the lens for a Black Magic Camera, more testing may need to be done. It may or may not cover fully. For coverage of RED 2K, yes. For RED 3k, may be possible with some vignetting on the corners.
The Arri Ultra 16 lenses were used on such productions as "Black Swan" and "The Wrestler".
Thanks for looking and good luck!"
