Request: Side handle as right front handle, via a cable/adapter between the camera body and the front handle.

I have suggested this in the past, not sure where it falls on RED's priority list or what level of engineering effort it would require.

There was a thread recently where someone showed a kludge they had built in house for this very purpose, looked a bit ghetto but that's typical of even the best prototypes. NO idea how it might hold up in the field.

I see, I guess it should be easy to make, but the left handle (current & dumb) and the right handle need to match in position to feel right... Hope they make it - soon, the last time I gave an Epic to a DoP unfamiliar with the camera, using both a shoulder rig and an EasyRig, he had a hard time finding the buttons/or simply the record button. A front mounted side handle would be perfect.

I'll rather go with the handle we already have, and not a new wheel. I just want the side handle to make sense when the camera is configured like a classic shoulder-cam... And it will make perfect sense as a handle where the hand is located...
