This is probably an easy fix, perhaps a Mac system setting that just needs to be adjusted, but here it is--

I get the picture looking beautiful in RED Cine-X. looks amazing, colors look rich

Then I export to ProRes 422 at 1920x1080. Everything smooth so far... until I open it in QUicktime. Looks awful-- the image is completely faded. Almost like it needs a serious Gamma adjustment. I can correct it in Final Cut if need be, but really, I should be able to export it from RedCine-X correctly the first time. And I guess I could try to compensate for it by over-doing the Gamma in Red Cine-X and hoping it will export "close enough" to what I want in the end. But I know that's not the right way to do it.

by the way, the image looks just as faded in FCP, so its not just QuickTime reading the file in a weird way.

I seem to remember there was some kind of System Gamma control on a Mac, but that was years ago. I'd hope they'd done away with that by now.

Ultimately I just want what I see in RedCine_X to export to ProRes 422, exactly. I hope that's possible

FCP uses quicktime to play. What if you play through VLC?

How does it look if you export to another codec like dnxhd or a tiff sequence, or quicktime/h264, or something else?
