  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE PRO X 15 release / 16 Beta

Is there anyway in RedCineX to playback a shot at 48fps then 24fps? I've shot a ton at 48fps footage and would like to see what it looks like.

On windows 64bit, RCX exports work normally, but redline exports from RCX or from the command line crash at the end.
RedExport.exe faults with MSVCR100.dll
The export completes but I get the the crash every time, quicktime or mxf.
and the redline installed with the 64bit RCX is 32bit. Redline is not 64bit?
The MSVCR100 seems to indicate a problem with the microsoft C++ library.
Crashes with or without Rocket enabled.

On windows 64bit. Im not getting any audio playback when shot off the camera.. But when I export the file to h264 I have the audio????

AutoMatch seems to be partially broken:

8chan poly BWF from 788t is 48000, 23.976. Confirmed in Wave Agent. Not 48048 or 48048F.

If I choose AutoMatch, Rate 48000. RCX does not link.
If I choose Rate Auto, RCX does link the BWF.
Shows proper timecode start @ 23.976, proper freq at 48000, but wrong TC freq at 48048.
But Plays/exports in sync.

except if there is also on camera audio, then the ext tracks play back static or distorted - probably indicating there is a sampling rate mismatch.

I can also bring the poly bwf into CS6 and it automatches with the r3d there fine, shows proper 23.97 timecode, 48000 sampling rate.

Feature Request:
Add BWF filename as an option for Burn In

Add the ability to sync multiple BWF files and/or greater than 8chan poly BWFs. We're doing 16channels for this film, I think thats fairly common.

The RCX video player always plays back at the project rate the clip was recorded with. If you used varispeed shooting 48fps and a project rate of 24fps the footage will only play back at 24fps within RCX.
You can however export to quicktime and use the frame rate override option to specify 48fps and view the exported file.

So redline installed in the rcx directory is 64bit, but the redline installed in redexport is 32bit.

On purpose or error?

On purpose.

Though I'm not sure why you are getting a crash with the MSCVR100 library. We have not been seeing that issue in testing.

Once we go over the 48048F stuff that we've been corresponding over PMs about we'll take a look at why you are having an issue with the MSVCR100.

Correct, the TRK# fields were removed in build 13 as they where causing Avid MC6 to crash on ALE load.
We are awaiting word from Avid on what to name them from now on.

We'll look into adding Circled and Notes.

Seems like Avid has addressed this in a dot release or at least in 6.5

Export MXF/ALE from RCX.
Bring the ALE into Excel, add TRK1 through TRK8 headings and add data to those fields, save ALE.
Imports into Symphony 6.5 OK and TRK fields are associated with the AAF.

So maybe you can enable it again in RCX.

Peter,
Can you post and/or email redcinex at red dot com with the duplication for this issue you are experiencing? Can you also include/attach the export preset you are using. We'll be able to better deduce what the issue is you're seeing. Thanks.

Armen

I will do this as soon as I can - got a very hectic few days ahead but I should be able to make time for it at some point.

sorry guys - got bogged down with a messy edit. I finally went back to try to reproduce this problem and everything seemed to work fine... but I cannot be sure I didn't change the preset as mentioned by Serge... I just tried the export in RCX 16 as well and it also worked...
thanks for all the suggestions....
