RED EPIC & RED WINE shot with LEICA glass, tune in for weekly episodes south france.

Greetings redusers...

Thought I would share this with the community. I have been working on a doco about wine in south france and my clients are using material from the film to launch weekly episodes promoting their brand, the region, etc. If your a wine and food lover you might enjoy this...starts every Friday for the rest of the harvest.

The film is shot 100% with EPIC X, Leica R 35-70mm zoom 2.8, and 100% natural light. I am a one man crew, and the workflow is (for my 1st time) using ADOBE premier which I am LOVING on a macbook Retina. Will probably start a new thread just about that.

ENJOY!

Very nice. Makes me want to go for a visit.

Lovely piece. That lens is wonderful. Love the rich color palette.

It looks great.

I hate to be "that guy" but is that a dead pixel on some of the shots or something introduced into the image in post or compression?

Can't tell - it's visible in all the shots in the darkened barrel room, and I see it sometimes in the brighter shots but it disappears when the cam noses up to the sky.

Nonetheless commendable work.

Hi Clayton,

Is it a rehoused/adapted R 35-70 mm zoom or did you use an adapter to put it on a canon mount ?

Negative...this lens is the original leica R 35-70 2.8... Adapted? Yes. i had it adapted for cinema by Duclos in LA. They put a leitax canon adaptor on it. I never heard of a rehoused version of this glass?

ok pixal peepers...using premier. I used warp stabilizer on many shots to smooth out things, incredible tool....cheers adobe. I was also cuting 5k real time with a macbook retina...i have not seen the final output, any defaults you witness are due to me experimenting with compression in adobe world. The raw goods are crispy as you could imagine. More so then i am use too.

What a gig, my three passions, RED cameras, Wine and the South of France!.

Captured the essence of it all perfectly!

This is one of the best commercials I've ever seen. It made me wanna taste the wine even though I don't drink alcohol.

The framing is so good that it completes as a whole with the invisible editing. Music and editing rhythms match perfectly.
I'm so proud this project was shot on RED!
