I have not been able to get timecode in with the breakout box from wooden camera. I tried all the different options in the timecode menu with no result. I also heard that the Epic can only send timecode and not receive. I have gotten it to receive through the Pro IO, but maybe you need the Pro IO to do so. Timecode was coming from the Fostex PD-6.

Anyone had any experience with this?

I don't know what an "X break out box" is but I was able to get the Epic to receive TC, but not send it. From what I understand, the pro I/O might be able to send/receive, but I've not been able to confirm that. The Epic by itself definitely can't generate and send continous SMPTE TC.

Are you using a TC box? Just feed with an SB3 or similar box to keep consistent TC. It'll jam with their BOB. Make sure you have the Jam settings correct in the menus.

Hahahaha... now it makes sense :)

I use the breakout cable from Red, but I'm sure the Epic doesn't output TC.

Heya Mike!

The Epic can most certainly receive TC, you just need the Epic sync breakout cable, the same one we rented from Videofax for the Toytalk shoot (we only used it for run/stop for the Preston). Dunno about the WC box you're using or the Fostex but it'll work with a Lockit box.
