I've been testing my Pro I/O, and haven't been able to figure out how to hear the sound from it in RCX. For instance, I can plug a mic into channel 3 on the Pro I/O and record a shot. When I play back the shot in camera, I hear the audio in headphones. But when I bring the shot into RCX, I don't hear anything. I can select Camera Audio 3 in the audio tab, and see the waveform, so I'm pretty sure there's audio there. And if I load a shot with audio on Channel 1 or 2, I can hear that audio. Same thing happens in my MacBook Pro and my Mac Pro.

This sounds to me like some very simple thing that I'm not doing right. This is with Epic firmware 3.3.3 and RCX Pro 15.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I was looking for the same thing, some of our old footage from RED One used channels 3 & 4. Just found it. In the tab called Etc, you can choose additional audio channels. The tab is next to Look, Framing, Meta tabs.

OK, well, it plays well, but still doesn't export. Did you figure out how to export it? I went back to REDCINE-X v454 to do the export.
In REDCINE-X v454 I've just selected channels 3 and 4 in the export settings. Did the same thing in REDCINE-X Pro and it didn't work :-(

Radim,

This should be working with RCX-Pro. Which build are you currently using?? Camera audio, external audio or both?? Thanks.

Didn't get that far today but should be able to check it tomorrow.

Mike,

To export the audio with your R3D clips, in the export preset dialog/window you need to select the audio tab and enable audio for export along with which channels (camera, external or both) to export with the clip [this of course only applies to the QuickTime, avid, BWF & R3D Trim file formats]. For QuickTime you also will need to set the audio compression settings as you would the video codec settings [new with builds 15 & 16]. This should work. Please let me/us know if you've found an issue with this. Thanks.

Tried it today, and I'm exporting audio, but am I supposed to be able to keep the channels separated on export? They show up as separate channels in RCX, but when I export a QuickTime I get two channels of audio with all four original channels, panned to the center. (Apologies if this is some really basic thing that I should have figured out a long time ago!)
