  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

It drives me nuts that you have a $500-$1000 disposable battery that is only going to last a few hundred cycles. I have over twenty Anton Bauer batteries sitting on chargers that I never use anymore, because I have discovered cheap ($180-$200) no Name batts. They out perform any battery I have ever owned.

Guys, that post was 3 years ago. Since then RED has introduced RED Volts. Sorry to get you excited.
 
Just want to clear up some misinformation that has been posted here.........

Batteries are a consumable...... This means that they wear out/degrade and do not have an infinite life span, it is not
a manufacturer design just the chemical action happening inside the cells, expect 3 to 3.5 years as a standard life in some instances
somewhat longer but 5 years would be about the max for any battery to give better than 50 % capacity, this is going to be true use them or not.

All Pro Video batteries are fully reparable/ refillable/ and can be ReCelled, anyone who says otherwise is wrong!
The cost maybe prohibitive versus the cost of buying a new one but that is a consideration in each individual circumstance.
Having completed hundreds of Li-Ion packs from manufacturers such as Anton Bauer, IDX, SONY, RED, FREZZI, VARIZOOM, GENERICS, etc, etc.
and the countless NiCd & NiMh Packs. I can confirm this.

There are NO FEDERAL Licensing requirements for battery repair/ReCell!! Li-Ion or any other Chemistry.

Anton Bauer Chargers will only charge Anton Bauer Batteries (some exceptions in very early NiCd chargers).

The Anton Bauer 3 point stud mount is still the best available mounting system period! (I have not had a worn or loose pin issue yet, but have had many many V-Mount plate issues)

Not sure why V-mount battery plates don't lock in much like Anton Bauer battery plates. You think they would.
