RPP 18 mm not covering 5K !! When was that ever announced ??

Just received my Epic... and found out my RPP 18mm wouldn't cover 5K... Obsolescence obsolete ?? not quite, really !

Jim Mentoned it a year or so ago, the only 18mm cinema prime that works is the Cooke Pancro T2.8.
The good news of course is 5k on Draggon wll be fine.

Thank's Stephen,you make my day!
But no 6K for us with18,25,35mm RPP ;50,85 and 100mm could be ok...

Can't see any vignetting on my 18mm RPP... Are you sure it's not your mattebox?

No Vignetting either.

Yes,without matte box,it's light but it's there,in the extreme corners.
The Chrosziel 456 Academy 3 stage cover the 18mm RPP and 5K just fine.

I have RED PRO Prime 18mm (RM180009) and no vignetting on Red Epic 5k FF, none at close focus, none at far focus. (I saw this post and had to run down, attach lens and carefully examin - so I am sure)

I LOVE the RED Primes by the way, so crystal sharp, neutral in color, greatest value for money!

Being discussed here too: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?82749-5K-and-RPPs

And I posted a link to an old thread, almost a year ago, where I uploaded a frame grab. I love the RED Primes too -- just all around good lenses. Excellent performance for the money, it seems the main compromise to get the performance for that price was in size and weight, especially on the shorter focal lengths. The 18mm is a BEAST!

Hi Stephen,

The Canon K35 18mm - in fact BOTH the T1.5 and the T2.8 versions - cover 5K full as well.
