One of our clients took a Dremel and shaved the RCA connector back a bit. He can still use it if he needs audio and it acts as a friction fitting to help hold the Arrow in place.

Hi Dan, just a quick one , what is the main different between paralinx compared to other hdmi stick products like galaxy ? Those are listed in the range of 200$. I really like the range of paralinx. Thank you.

Range, quality control, unique feature set that is our trade secret (lots of secret sauce), and they are specifically made for the professional camera market. You will not find anything with the same quality, range and feature set in a consumer product as we are a professional custom solution.

I appreciate your question!

Dan

The ARROW transmits in 4 band ranges

1. 5150 - 5250mhz
2. 5250 - 5350 (able to be turned on and off in the on screen display) mhz
3. 5470 - 5725 (able to be turned on and off in the on screen display) mhz
4. 5725 - 5850 mhz

and is capable of utilizing Dynamic Frequency selection in the various bands to avoid interference.

Transmission power is less than 50mw.

Thank you for the freq info, very helpful. Can we pick one up somewhere in town tomorrow? Who stocks them?

what is the consensus on the heat from the Paralinx? I did read one report that it got super hot which is a concern... how are people finding this in regular production environments?

Hello Dan,

My set works great. However, my only concern is that my receiver unit is unable to be powered up by the micro usb on DC. I can only power it up if I ran a 5V cable from the electrical socket.

Bert.

It won't power that way. AbelCine has sourced a USB to 3.5mm cable so that a PTap to USB converter can be used to power the receiver.

Thank you Mitch and Bert,

A USB to 5V barrel is not part of the original package contents.

We are working to offer a very nice Receiver side DC accessory kit ASAP, until then the USB to 5V barrel included with a redstation reader works great - or the Abel Cable.

Please be careful when using third party cables not to jam the center dc Pin as this can damage the power connector and requires A repair.

Best ,

Dan

Hi Rory,

I'd love to allow some users to chime in on the heat - but I can say that we have worked with our chipset fabricator to make sure that thermal dynamics are one of our top priorities.

We have had zero reports of our commercial, professional grade units overheating in the field, and never have had problems in our testing running 12-14 hours a day on shoots.

Best,

Dan
