Digital Media mount/unmount clarification

Is there any way to have the CF card and the Red Drive hooked up at the same time and switch between them with a menu option or does the Red Drive have to be disconnected in order to use the CF card?

Also, I m assuming the correct procedure is to power down the camera to unplug/plug in the Red Drive or CF card?

I can't seem to find any indication of the proper procedure.

No just UNMOUNT the drive... either in the MEDIA menu, or by pressing UNDO and EXIT. When the camera says "O.K to remove" you can do so.

The unmount process closes all files and powers down the drive.

RED-DRIVE has to be disconnected to use CF card.
