I'm looking to purchase a set of Lomo Anamorphic Diopters for OCT 19 Square fronts.
Please be kind enough to leave a message here or at brandonjameson at aol dot com
thanks!

Just an FYI

There are a few different types of Lomo Ana diopters, so you might want to look to try and match yours to the type of Squarefront you have.

They're 'approximately' the same... but not a perfect fit when they're mismatched.

There are ones made for the OCT-18 Squarefront (the same unit mates with either the 50mm or 75mm lens and is a 2 piece) and then ones made for the single piece OCT-19 anamorphic lomos. I've seen 4 variations of these squarefronts so far and all are slightly different (60's versions, 70's and 80's ones).

I was lucky and picked up a couple nearly 2 years ago... before the crazy spike in prices.

You can just use 138mm diopters in a mattebox if you want. Way easier to find,

Nick

Nick - not to drag off topic (apols Brandon!), but how do you deal with Squares and a mattebox? I use nun's knickers - but they're a bit of a PITA when using the 35mm.

Hey Andy and Nick.....great advice!!!

WHAT IS NUNS KNICKERS????...and where do i get them please for my lenses?!!

I have used round neoprene donuts with a square hole in them. I also had an old foam donut that I bought from arri almost 20 years ago for a 10-150 Ang zoom that I stretched over the lens and then it mated with the bellows on the MB-19 pretty well. The 35mm is the PITA ;-) At some poitn I plan on machining some calmp on delrin fronts that go from square to round. I have a large anamorphic project coming up, so I'll probably do it then.

LOL - Nun's knickers are one of the best nicknames around :) They're a donut one side (for your mattebox) and fabric on the other, that you place over the lens (good for stills lenses that move whilst focusing etc). Never fully happy with them, but they work. Genus make them with a 105mm ring.

Ahh - OK, so I'm not mad - I've done a few DIY's too. Wonder how the Russians used them with MB's?

I did think of something similar to the method you're suggesting... basically a moulded piece from Round to Square with a slight flexible bellows to accommodate the varying Sqaurefront sizes (I have a Foton-A too - and that's a different size again!)...

The 35mm is a wonderful PITA though :) - so much nicer than the Roundfront 35mm (IMO).

35mm SF are indeed nice. Heard much the softness of the 35mm RF until I saw Callan Green's music video. He stated that he only used the 35mm RF for the entire video, in the 2.8 to 5.6 range. Looks great (IMO) https://vimeo.com/27318628
