Here a list of films on YouTube that are in 4k and that i know of please add to the list:

I would love to see more filmmakers and RedUser Posting their content in 4k on YouTube. "We need to move at 90mph" if we want to make 4k a reality sooner then later.

Interesting. I'd like to see such a video with a little line pairs ' pixel on - pixel off' patch pasted in somewhere on the image to see if it comes out the other end as real 4k.

I do the same test on projectors. If I can't see the pixel on pixel off pattern on the screen, it's fake .

We did the same thing on the thread here on Reduser where we were testing if the 2k on the Ipad 3 was real 2k. It was !

I think the 6k red dragon sensor will make close to 4k movies.

Youtube is overcompressed. A dubious 4K experience at 4K. Downsampled to 1080p it's ok.

*Nice job Mr. Schwarz

yep... Im afraid YOUTUBE compression kills the full potential....
Ive seen HD better than these..

Hey Mark, just checking to make sure you are changing your resolution settings to original when viewing? 4k on YouTube is easily the best Web video I've seen. Though a nice ProRes 1080p file will give it a good run for it's money of course :P

So how is anyone watching these in 4K on YouTube?

You need a 4K industrial display and the appropriate GPU hardware. Right now, that's pretty limited. Next year, the only problem will be 4K displays as 4K video and high-resolution content acceleration are being baked into the new GPUs.

On 2560x1600 monitors....

Absolutely. 4K material makes a significant difference on 27"-30" 2560 monitors versus 1920 upscaled, assuming a viewing distance of 2-3 feet.

It may not seem like much, but 2560 is close to twice the resolution of 1920.

2560x1440 is exactly twice of 1280x720
it is 33% more height and weight (or 78% more pixels) than 1920x1080
while 4k have 2x height and weight (or 4x more pixels) than 1920x1080
but what is good, you can get $299 shipped 27" 2560x1440 IPS LCD from ebay

My New Zealand in 4k video i uploaded at 4096x2304 in h.264 5.1 and it looks okay. I think uploading ProRes to YouTube looks better because you are giving YouTube a higher bit rate to compress from.

how do we upload these 4k files, any tips for compression other then prores? it's way to big to upload
