  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Zeiss MKII Superspeeds for sale

I used to have a set of those. I used them a lot since their fast aperture helped a lot for shallow DOF on 16mm. They also fit the S16mm format. Some 9.5 vignette a bit, mine didn't. Many of them had originally an Arri bayonet mount. P&S comverted mine and did a terrific job.

Good lenses for 2K applications with the Red.

$28,000.00 US for a set of super 16 primes?

It's the weak USD that makes 18.000 EUR 28.000 USD. Buying power is roughly the same. Nevertheless 18.000 EUR is probably a bit over the top. The fine and trusty workhorse Canon 8-64 will sale for about 5.5 - 7K EUR max.

You can use only 9.5 in 2K mode. Maybe 9.5 dont fit the camera. The back side is maybe too long.

Zeiss Super Speed Pricing...

Zeiss Super Speed Pricing...

doesn't this set usually go for about $7500?

Mark I sets (Bayonet mount, smaller barrel) used to go for about $7500 - now who knows? But these are Mk.II sets - with larger barrel, better mechanics, and easy conversion to PL mount if they are not already.

I have a page on my website that explains the differences in detail for both the S16 and S35 lenses:

http://www.cinematechnic.com/resources/zeiss_super_speed_f1,2_lenses.html

And before the forum vigilantes flame me for shilling - I have no more lenses available at the moment - so I'm giving away free info and have nothing to sell. Please enjoy!

BTW - Try not to drool. Every single lens pictured on that page was once owned by me and each was fully overhauled before being sold (when the pictures were taken). I wish I could have them all back right now - I could pay off my house!

Either way, I'm sure every customer that's bought reconditioned Zeiss Mk.II or Mk.III S16 primes from me (I've sold several sets in the last few years) is quite happy, given that even the highest price I charged (for a Mk.3 set) was less than this offer.

However, I am out of stock, and I cannot find any used lenses to buy at prices that support reconditioning (where I make my money in on the refurbishment of the lenses). It's all supply and demand. The lenses are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.

And before I get a barrage of e-mail - as soon as I have any Super Speeds or any other Zeiss lenses for sale, I will post it here first. Trust me, I have absolutely no motivation to keep it a secret.
