Does anyone know if this handle will work on either VF or WC top plates? I really like that handle and the price is nice but I want to know if it only will work on the DSMC Top Plate.

...just a little correction there: it's DSMC...it rolls off the tongue more easily
As to your question, I've been asking myself that same question lately; it looks like it should work when you look at the pics, but who knows

Does anyone have any cleaver ideas for mounting this handle? I like it a lot but already have the sliding top handle. Was hoping some of you might have different ideas for mounting options.

Is this handle not to close from the heat vent ?
I don't know how much heating the Scarlet,
but I'm afraid to burn my fingers !!
(and drop the cam....... AAARGH !!!)

The sliding top handle ends up in the same area. It gets somewhat warm, but won't burn you.

Thanks for the answer... of course, it was a joke...... I knew it won't burn me,
but, I read on another thread there was some heat at this side, so,
if I have to use it few hours long, with my hand, and don't feel confortable,
I'd like to know that before buying......
So in fact, my question was, is this handle is really a handle for "work",
like the sliding handle, or just an handle to carry it sometime, like the rib side handle.....

Well mine is supposed to get here sometime during the day, so I may have an answer for you soon.... watch this space.

The spacing on the holes looks to be about 108mm (12 x 9mm hole spacing). In order to stay within the footprint of the camera we made our plate shorter than Red's so the front to rear hole patterns is not on a 9mm increment. Our max hole spacing is 104 mm, so I can say 100% that it will not work on our top plate. Sorry guys.

Actually the DSMC TACTICAL TOP HANDLE fits on VF top plate. See attached.
The handle is much smaller than it looks. I really like this top handle design.

The only drawback is it eliminates and option of putting rods on the top, it also covers the 3/8" holes on the top plate. Otherwise its a great alternative top handle for compact configurations. Im going to order a few more of these.

EDIT:
FYI- It does not work on the Wooden Camera top plate. The spacing is slightly off.

That is great that it works on the VF plate. I like the simplicity of that handle.

Greg:
I noticed in your pic that you have a swat rail mounted off the side of the top plate. In this configuration, could you use the sliding top handle like a side handle, or is there not enough clearance between it and the SSD module to make it usable? I was looking for a low-profile side handle solution and was curious if this might work.
