I made my way around NAB as much as possible today and found myself drifting back to the RED booth several times, including three viewings of LOOM. I shoot RED but was definitely interested in what other companies were bringing to the table. RED showed up, can't say that for the others. No comparison and Dragon is already around the corner. Its an incredible time for cinema, and I appreciate the opportunity to be witnessing cinematic history.

Thanks RED team

That's exactly why I logged on tonight, to commend the RED staff at NAB. At the RED booth, we got a Cioni presentation with Q&A on Light Iron's new App, an excellent Ridley Scott 3D short officiated by Jim, Ted was working the crowd, left some well received feedback with Matt and I even overheard Graeme fielding a tech support call. The other guys booths were a bunch of suits standing around trying to look slick :-/ There's something so right about RED, it's more than just a company, it's a frame of mind. Well done guys!

I was thinking the same thing. Until you actually walk around and see what the others are doing and how they are doing it, it's hard to truly see the difference between RED and it's competition in both products & personality. Amazing what they've done in only a few years.

That said, hope they continue to work out kinks and continue to get better. Little things can still be improved upon. (For instance, don't make all the people who came to Vegas go back to their hotel rooms to hear the announcements when we just had the heads of the company speaking to us in person! Ha ha. Not a huge deal, but I hope they do this differently next year. That was just odd.)

All said, RED is truly killing it. I was amazed going to Canon's booth and seeing that they still don't and won't have onboard RAW 4K files...while RED is already at 5K. Amazing and I'm proud to be part of the RED movement.

+1. I Feel he same, unfortunately this year I am not in Vegas but I felt this last year already. With Dragon now our lifes are easier;)
cheers

same here, feeling the excitement and organic nature of guys doing hard work to further cinema technology and change the face of camera sales and their approach to conducting business. Cheers

There was definitely a magic powder sprinkled over the RDC booth this year, as I too found myself back to it numerous times. There is just no competition to RED.

Sorry for a little thread de-railing, but I don't know where else to ask this:

Where is all the NAB coverage on all the different websites? Where do I go to, to get some news? Everyone is bragging about having crews and bringing news and such, but most of the websites just have 2 - 3 videos online. Even FreshDV, which I thought would be covering the event. Covering an event, would mean at least 20 videos per day. They're all "one-takes" anyways.

Where are all the videos at? :)
