  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon poll

Dragon poll

  • Total voters
    251
1. Dynamic range
2. Improved frame rates for HDRX (Scarlet)
3. 50-100 FPS @4k would be nice. Tertiary, but nice.

800 or more base ISO
Much better highlight protection
5k in 24 (scarlet)

1280 native ISO and more DR knowing that, if this update is to ship this year, the design has been locked out - it's a production/testing project now. It is what it is and I'm sure it will be solid

I should have put in a night at a Vgas Strip-joint as one option.
And another unmentionable camera as B-cam as one more.

But I think the poll is pretty good as it is...

depending on the weather situation and lenses/matte boxes used, fiddling around with ND's can be quite a pain (if you have to be fast)… not to speak of possible IR pollution if you don't take care or have the wrong filters… user-error - I know. But if a new sensor or OLPF or whatever in front of the sensor will make it easier for me - count me in!

Thus you, like me, will rather want the capacity of seeing in the light, than seing in the dark.

I'd love to skip an ND .9 when I go out...

Cuz that's where we usually start...

I really want most of all, the ability of the dragon to match the MX. I have two cameras and would like to only upgrade one if the footage from each will co-mingle with the other. Eventually I would like to have both upgraded, but early on I might skip upgrading just one until I can have both done. I will almost always use both together so this is important to me.

interesting choice of words...

Quite delberate, have to admit...
I cannot feel oldchool, as RED was my way into highend productions... That'd be too absurd!
But still the ability to shape light was and is a huge part of what I consider photography. Not the ability to do stuff without light.

But this is one of the many and funny anachronisms of life!
