The Clutch is a fantastic shoulder rig, but it helps to have alignment marks on some of the dogbones/pads, to make it quicker to set up when you unpack it on location. I've marked the critical spots with a little drop of model airplane paint (in different colors for each piece) applied with a toothpick. The dots are placed where the AC can easily see them, even if the DP is wearing the rig.

I do same with all Rosettes with a silver Sharpie dot

On the other hand, this used to be my scariest nightmare, someone touching my setups, etc... Now I've chilled up a bit (let's call it therapy) and the idea of toying around with it so much that I can do it with my eyes closed now has changed my life! I just don't think about it anymore. I fold it, unmount it, remount it, all in seconds now, and my preferred settings become natural and always spot on!

The secret is really to use it and play with it...

Great info..

But any of you having trouble with the rig - Like.

"Handles won't hold there position - and they just slide around" .

"Rubber on the handgrip´s make´s your hands look´s like you been working in a coal mine".

"Shoulder path don't have an angel and feel´s plastic - so you have to work it to get in a horizontal line ".

" 1/4 Wingnut is located in a way that it stick´s and itch your side of the neck". On an 14 hour shoot - end of the day that rig is just wears you out.

But otherwise it´s probably great...

"Handles won't hold there position - and they just slide around" . No

"Rubber on the handgrip´s make´s your hands look´s like you been working in a coal mine". Not at all

"Shoulder path don't have an angel and feel´s plastic - so you have to work it to get in a horizontal line ". Nope. It's quite comfortable, and the angle is fine

" 1/4 Wingnut is located in a way that it stick´s and itch your side of the neck". On an 14 hour shoot - end of the day that rig is just wears you out. Haven't noticed. Granted, I haven't used it on a 14 hour shoot yet but I'm pretty picky about things poking me in the side of the neck...

But otherwise it´s probably great...

It is great.

Trevor what kind of lenses are you using - I just can't figure out (since we have 2 clutches complete). Why we are having these problems´s - with it - I mainly shoot Master Prime´s , so maybe the rig get´s to heavy - and can't cope with more (how can i put it). Heavy lenses not that MP´s - at particular heavy.. I mean it should be up fore working with PL. Mount gear and not just DSLR stuff.

Hi Peter,
I'm using Zeiss CP.2 primes (around 3lb each) with a clamp-mounted Genus Elite mattebox. Nothing super heavy, but it ain't light either. Camera has Anton Bauer Dionic 90/HC batteries on it at all times, top handle, LCD, side handle and EVF.
