Anyone experiencing issues? I have a QR plate on two 19mm brackets, then I go to the 15mm adaptor (centered). With standard Ultra primes, and two totally different follow focus/mattebox configs, I'm having the same issue...

1. Arri MMF-1 and O'connor O box. I set up the FF (15mm rods LWS) on the left side with the Ultra Prime, and it fits fine. BUT--The matte box bangs into the little bolt that sticks out opposite the FF gear. I'm technically "in" the matte box, but just BARELY. I'd like to have a bit more space...If I "flip" the gear, and back the FF unit up, I run out of room, as the 15mm metal adaptor is there...A 1/4" or so is all I need for the FF to fit, but no dice.

2. Zacuto Z focus and Red rock Mattebox. Same exact issue. I even tried hanging the Red Rock Mattebox off the 19mm rails while keeping the Z focus on the LWS rods, but I'm still banging into the matte box with the little bolt...

Any ideas?

Fixed it. Had to remove the front 19mm universal mount and just go straight into the quick release with the 15mm adaptor. The LEARN video on red.com says you could mount at the 15mm adaptor to the front 19 mm mount with...Probably if you're running a 19mm Follow Focus.

Hi Eric,

While I’m not quite sure what the exact problem was that you were experiencing, the question of rod standards is one of the most common. These are established measurements to insure cross compatibility between systems. A better verbal/ visual explanation of this can be found here:

Hope this helps…
