  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

when using a circular polarizer and regular ND filters do i put the pola closest to the lens or top of the stack?

if im using a hot mirror or IR filter does this shake up the order with the polarizer ?

what is the limit for filtration? is 4 filters stacked ok?

Good questions. I was going to be researching this very topic soon, as I'll be buying some filters (mainly NDs) in the next couple of weeks for my brand new Epic. I'm pretty sure I recall from when hot mirrors/IR-ND combos were first talked about on the forum that you want those to go LAST, closest to the talent or object shot because of the high reflectivity of those filters. Don't know how polarizers figure in though. Hope some of the experienced and knowledgeable folk here weigh in.

Or, if you are just wandering around outdoors and don't have any filters with you, and your G lens is mounted wide open without the ability to stop it down, just select a higher frame rate and zoom in to cut down on the amount of light you have to deal with. '-)

At least, that's what I did.
