Here's what we basically told Red. Maybe some of you guys at RedUser have some ideas as well

Working with the 320 Gig hard drive then switched to 8 GB card after detaching hard drive (Did an undo-exit first of hard drive before detaching.) Rebooted camera with 8Gig compact flash in place. First time message from camera: Not enough memory to support settings. Shut down camera and did a reboot. Second message after reboot: Digital magazine -none attached and Media X on status screen in back of camera. Tried all four of our compact flash cards and got same message. Reattached the hard drive and camera recognized it. Did my best to see pins inside compact flash slot by shining flashlight down and there might be a bent pin. Not sure. We are extremely careful about placing CDs in camera so a little confused about how and why this could have happened if this is the problem. (two hours later) Problem seems to have compounded. We turned on the camera again a few hours after the 8GB card failure and now with the 320 Gig harddrive plugged in we have an additional error message in viewfinder: External mag. incompatible project. When we press the record button message in viewfinder screen reads: Record error X incompatible project. Would really like to get back up and running. All help appreciated.

Hard drives do not write with different frame rates or codecs.

If you change the frame rate you need to reformat the drive,( after you dump the data!!)

Check all your settings and make sure they match.
8 gig cards don't do 120 frames.

sounds like you may have project frame rates that do not match.

try and format the 8gig cards.

Absolutely correct, Thanks. Frame rates were changed and we corrected it. After that the camera did recognize the harddrive. Our original problem still remains, though. We undo/exit the hard drive and then detached it from camera. Project settings Resoluation 4K 2-1, frame rate 24 fps. We placed a Red 8GB compact flash card in the flash drive slot of the camera. It is definitely facing the correct way and you can feel the pins engage easily with little pressure. We rebooted the camera and the message in the viewfinder states Digital magazine non-attached. The rear status display screen shows Media X’d out. When we tried to format, the message in the viewfinder was Magazine formatting failed. No digmag was found nothing to format. We tried all of our four Red flash cards and the results are the same. Again, any suggestions greatly appreciated.
