Installing my Tactical Top Plate tonight (finally!), and... dammit! No allen key provided for the little screws that hold the grille onto the top of the Epic-X. Curse you, Jim! ;-) So while I'm at Home Despot tomorrow, I thought I'd try to get together a comprehensive set of tools. Collating info from other threads (no pun intended), here's what I've got:

Torx T8 - that damn top grille (another poster suggested IP8, but visually it looks like regular Torx to me. http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?70393-chimney-screws)
Torx Plus IP10 - backfocus. The T10 that comes with the camera will work, but I'd be inclined to get the correct driver for such a crucial part.
Torx T10 - various screws that hold the camera together, e.g. side handle cover
Torx Plus IP20 - lens mount. (Looks like Torx Plus visually - haven't confirmed.)
Hex 3/16" - 1/4-20 bolts for mounting stuff. Some are 3/8" (e.g. swat rail), others are 5/8" (e.g. LCD).
Hex 3mm - M4 screws (e.g. Top Plate). This is a guess. My metric keys aren't labeled.

Anyone care to confirm / correct / append?

Particularly the Torx vs. Torx Plus - my eyes aren't what they used to be. My understanding is that a regular Torx driver will drive Torx Plus (loosely), but the reverse is *not* true.

p.s. - my apologies to anyone who clicked through expecting porn, based on the subject line.

appologies accepted.

p.s. According to the manual, the back focus is Torx T10 (page 202), no mention about other bolts. My understanding is that the lens mount uses Torx T20.

Lens Mount is a Torx T20 yes confirmed.

The sizes are as you stated, and those match the allen keys that come with the camera. But with the backfocus & the lens mount, the grooves in the heads look a bit more angular to me, suggesting Torx Plus - at least on my camera.

They're supposed to provide more torque and less wear. Not that most people will be swapping the mount or adjusting backfocus all that often - but some might, and right-tool-for-the-right-job, particularly if the bold in question is connected to a $35,000 chunk of metal. I haven't actually tried a Plus driver in either, though, as I don't have a set lying around.

How about the other stuff? M4's - can someone confirm 3mm? Could be 2.5mm.

For standard socket head cap screws:

M2 is hex 1.5mm
M2.5 is hex 2mm
M3 is hex 2.5mm
M4 is hex 3mm

For M4 and smaller, I highly recommend Wera Hex-Plus keys. The proprietary profile is not hype.

For some of the screws that are removed frequently it might be worth get torque drivers. I frequently changed the Red One mount and I got a 0.6 Nm Wiha driver. Just perfect. Never overtightened. Brent gave me the right torque setting, so they would have them for Epic screws as well.
