  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Maybe a dumb question.

Hey guys.

This may be a dumb question but I have someone calling me later this afternoon with a couple of red ones in their possession. I may be starting a project with them soon and would like to know if their RED ONES have the MX upgrade.

Is there a way for him to power the camera up and tell me ? Where would he find this information ? I believe the cameras have "mysterium x" branded on the side. Is that the only tell tell physically ?

Thanks !

There may not be any Mysterium X badge on the side of the camera, depending on the camera and upgrades. A RED One MX with an SSD side module, for example, will have a big shiny "RED" logo on the side, and no mention of Mysterium X.

At boot, you'll see a Mysterium-X logo on the RED LCD or EVF screen. Or if you have R3Ds recorded from the camera in question, pull them up in REDCINE-X, check the metadata. The metadata will read "MYSTERIUM-X S35" in the "Sensor Name" if it was recorded from a RED One MX. The original Mysterium sensor will show as "MYSTERIUM S35" (i.e. no "X").
