  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

From Scarlet Mufasa to Epic Simba only if RMA gods are on my side

Since the Epic was a bit out of my price range, I got the Scarlet. I loved it although I didn't get to use it much with no side handle to power it yet but got to do the ocasional tethered lens test on my dog!

I however made the mistake of playing with my friend's Epic and discovering 5k, HDRx & MORE FRAMES I couldn't dream about anything else!!! Dammmm you red!!

Several trips to the sperm bank, smashing of the piggy bank, one meal a day diet & other side jobs I'll never talk about again;-) Now it looks like I can almost afford to upgrade to the EPIC :-)

I am taking back the scarlet to the headquarter today for an evaluation which I know(hope) it'll pass since I have only 5min of record time BUT it is past the 10days and the 30% restocking fee applies :-( isn't that steep? anyone with past RMA experience? Do they charge the full 30% or less? any exceptions if you are upgrading?

I would think you could sell it barely used on this forum for less than a 30% loss, could be wrong though.
 
Jean, try posting it for the current price. It only has 5 minutes on it. There are many people that would like one that are not in the cue. Just for a test to see if anyone would be interested, I posted mine thinking if I could get a good price I'd take it and get the epic. It took 5 minutes to sell. It was virtual new maybe 20 minutes on it. I have an epic now, so I understand where your coming from.

In theory, Simba in Swahili means lion, and Mufasa was thought to be the last East Africa king before colonialism, should the names be swapped? Other notable names for tribal leaders in east africa. Batian, Nelion, Lenana who were Masai witch doctors. Lengai the god of Masai which was the name of my old scarlet.
 
If it's a pre-2012 order, 20% off the $9750 price would be gone in a heart-beat I'd imagine... That's $7800... I'll buy it for that price. Seriously, I'm calling dibs if that's what you're thinking of doing (Brain, SSD module, power adapter, AL Canon mount?)... How much is the RED transfer fee?

Yeah Michael, I would imagine it'll go quick for sure, will try that if RED doesn't credit me full value. My RED camera naming is straight out of the lion king! Simba the cub and Mufasa the lion. Initially didn't think I could afford Epic so I went with Mufasa since the scarlet was gone be my flagship camera but now that it has been possible to afford the Epic Simba applies since the cub grew up to be king :-) I like Lengai as a name.

According to my rep, the armor is not transferable or purchasable after ownership change :-( I was gona buy one of the stage 3 epic on the forum but when I learned that I couldn't get the Armor I reconsidered it!

I'll give you 1st dib Mike :-) It may not be with 20% off though since I would like to recover its value at 1st attempt of sale.

I should know earlier next week.

The Scarlet is about to be up for sale! RMA is charging 30% restocking fee!!!!
