Not sure if someone already mentioned it somewhere.
As we all know Premiere does not accept the audio embedded in the R3D file. But it accepts for some reason the audio in the Proxy-Files.
These can be done in a second within Redecine-X Pro since nothing has to be rendered it's just a re-wrap.

Load you footage into Redcine
File/Export, choose "Quicktime Wrapper", choose "Output with Clipfilename to Clipfolder"

This way your have two files to deal with in PP but since they are of the same length synchronizing is not a problem.

Happy Sound Editing ;-)

There are a couple threads on here that explain how to get audio working with Epic/Scarlet R3D files in Premiere. I have had it working for awhile now.

Hi Brandon.
For us - any many others the "Lightroom 4 workaround" does not work.
And the proxy-thing is actually quite easy and fast.

Hey Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me, or indicate if what I'm attempting is possible or not. At this point I'd be happy to go with R3D's in Premiere or Quicktime Wrapped Mov's, though the former would be the preferred route. My over-arching goal is to have Audio + R3D sync established at source in RCX Pro.

So, I'm working with Premiere CS 5.5.2, with the latest EPIC/Scarlet importers on Mac OS X 10.7.3 & the latest RCX-Pro (12.20390 Beta).

I have 4k 24fps footage shot on Scarlet and second system sound manually synced in RCX. Audio was not enabled on the Scarlet when recording. The audio files are External Audio 1 & 2 in RCX, playing back as expected and staying with the clips from session to session. Audio files are in a separate folder to the Video. All is well in RCX.

I tried Thomas' suggestion above, without success unfortunately. I've seen the various workarounds and tried searching for the .cfa files (none found). The only way I can have audio 'travel' with the clip is by doing a transcode to Quicktime. Is there something I'm missing? I have also tried exporting the sound-synced R3D via R3D trim and whilst the audio is present in RCX, all is quiet in Premiere.

I noticed that for clips recorded with audio enabled on the camera, Premiere sees the channels, though no actual audio was recorded due to the limitation of my current setup.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
