  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why did my thread get deleted?

Because it was just a bit over the top. Provide solutions - not just criticism

It depends. You are in "red's house" and it is a privately owned site. You have the privilege. To speak here, but not the right. It. Applies to us all. Voice your opinion but in such a way as not to piss anyone off. :)

Mohamed,
Your thread was entitled "RED needs to clean up their act". It was a general criticism of RED without insights or productive advice. Let me address your concerns with this:

As companies mature there is a necessary transition from being sales and marketing driven to leading at quality, execution and support. IMHO it appears that RED is in that transition now where they are trying to become world class at demand based manufacturing, quality control and scalable support . . . while maintaining their unique corporate culture of not punishing failure or asking for perfection which encourages rapid innovation (at the cost of reliability sometimes).

Going forward if they don't lead with quality then the market will do what it always does and reward accordingly. RED produces mission critical products so reliability has to be a top priority. As the industry fills in with 5K options then the prize goes to those who execute on all levels. Jim, Ted and Jarred know this and I am confident they have a strategic plan that is based on solid operation and support fundamentals.

I have recently doubled down financially on RED with full knowledge of Bloom, Scarlet, REDmote etc issues. RED will prevail since their leadership does not settle for second place in anything.

Looks at trends - not at a fixed point in time my friend. The current problems will be resolved

i disagree, the solution is obvious tbh. I feel really bad now, dont i have the right to voice my opinion?

I certainly wasnt trying to piss anyone off. If you have read my thread i mentiond RED's merrits and their faults.

While I agree with you I still think that someone who invested their last 10k in a camera shouldnt have to be subjected to such issues. I also think that my thread shouldnt be removed and I kindly ask whoever removed to put it back and let the people judge for themselves if i was being too hard. Maybe the title was too much but that's partially because English is my second language and im not sure if the phrase "clean up their act" is inappropriate or harsh.
My thread was in no way bashing RED. Not even a little bit. As i said all three cameras I have work perfectly.

Mohamed, I didn't even get to read your post but I did get to read the title before the thread was deleted. To answer your question, the phrase "clean up their act" is pretty harsh and hostile. Let's just say, I wasn't surprise to see your thread closed just by the title alone. English being your second language, I can understand the mistake.

I assure you the thread itself wasnt harsh at all.

Just wanted to give you an outside perspective. :-) Maybe change the title. The title is everything. It's what grabs my attention and gets me to click on various posts.

I'll change it if they post it back, thanks.

Mohamed, I'm just curious what your concerns with Red were regarding? (Please say it in a constructive manner)
It was already posted in a constructive manner. It took me 15 minutes to write it. I really hope it gets reposted. I'll write it again if I have to.

All your thread are belong to us.

Seriously though, didn't see it. It's gone... Don't know what else to say.

My first reply here, apologize for technical errors, but yes, why are threads deleted, and by who? Have seen this at another software forum, why have a forum at all?

This is exactly the reason why I want my thread back, I wasnt being disrespectful, I wasnt being disruptive, I was very polite. Why would you want a forum if you dont want people to voice their concerns?
I realize that my thread wont be re-posted by now, I just wish you would've read it instead of reading this.
All the best.

I haven't seen your thread and cannot find it in the deleted threads either; so I don't know what happened.

I would suggest that you start a new thread in the Complaint section, and word it in a constructive way.
It was in a constructive way. It doesnt really matter I wont post it again. I just feel it was unjustly deleted
