OPLF flare bushing received from RED - any install issues?

I suspect these are showing up now and RED makes it sound like its pretty straight forward. Just wanted to see if any early-installers had any notes or tips beyond RED's own before I pry off the lens mount and pop it on...
neat bit of kit, even includes a tool!
Tho for the tree-huggers amongst us, the H-U-G-E FedEx box the 4" packet came in was overkill. On the brighter side, nothing was going to damage it enroute

Just read the instructions, its as easy as that. nothing will catch you out.

Oh small tip. Put the camera on a tripod and tilt it down.. dropping a screw onto the OPLF might ruin your day.

Just wondering here as I just got my Epic last week and was wondering if all the ones going out the door at RED have the flair guard installed or is this something I need to fallow up on with RED???

Hi Russ. I think that you need to check with Red. My Epic X is about to ship and will not have one preinstalled because they on backorder.

Does anyone have a pic??? of it in the chamber. Just wondering what it looks like and to compare if I have one or not.. I guess I could just run a 650 in to the lens and do a regular camera test. I might like what I see even if its not there.

It's a very easy install, although I took my time with it to be as cautious as possible. I have to say it works incredibly well. The flares I get now are much more desirable.

My epic is due to ship this week and apparently wont have the flare guard you need to email them to get it shipped I believe

But still too strong IMHO. I don't like flairs that fires the camera before the light source is seen in the picture.
