I've been preaching the RED gospel since it's inception. Now I can finally practice what I preach! This camera has been a LONG time coming, and I'm not just talking about the 3 month backorder.

Scarlet in Lightweight "Run and Gun" Config. Once the side handle arrives I can get even lighter by ditching the 160 battery.

Not sure why the board is rotating this photo. It's correct on my server.

Congrats Mike! Great rig!

Thanks, I'm really liking this setup so far. The 17-55 is a very nice lens for the price. Certainly not a red zoom or anything but it's one of the sharper non L series lenses and it's coverage is perfect for 4K cropping on the Scarlet. Highly reviewed. I love it. I've added a few more pics.

Mike,

How do you like the RedRock MFF Blue? I'm considering it myself but have heard conflicting reports about it.

I really haven't had much time to test it out so can't really speak to performance and it's my first FF so I really have nothing to compare it to. The build quality is excellent. You can easily flip the gear side if needed due to lens size and space issues. I love the built in hard stops since I use Canon lenses and it's real easy to spin past either end of the focus range - messing up your marks. It's also nice that you can remove it from the 15mm LW rails without removing the matte box. Once you loosen the knob, they lift up off the rails. I'd love to hear the negatives you're hearing so I can test it myself - I have no bias for this FF at this point either way.

Beautiful rig. Love the leather grips, sweet!

I really like the grips too. They look even cooler in person and feel great. I had mixed feelings about them and how well they would go with all the metal plates, bolts, rods, clamps, etc. I got a good deal from someone selling them here so I figured I'd try them and I'm really glad I did.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said anything about the lens.....your setup is easily the sexiest I've seen. Loving all the wooden camera gear, seems to work really well! Congratulations mate :)

Mike - mine is here and it is 1457 - right after Yours! The Ti mounts looks like it will outlast the camera - worth waiting for... Now only missing the DSMC Side Handle...

Congrats Peter! Yeah the mount is pretty awesome. The whole camera is pretty awesome build wise. I'll never forget opening the Scarlet box and seeing the camera for the first time and thinking how amazing the quality is. The Scarlet has exceeded my expectations all the way around - and I had high expectations. Geeze I sound like a fanboy...

lol, no worries mate. I really love the WC gear too. Ryan has a shoulder rig coming out very soon that I'm excited to see.
