  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey guys, just out shooting some tests and the camera was doing fine but then twice it had some type of recording error during a take and it asked me to send log to red...and then I had to switch cards to get it to record again, and reboot...any ideas?

i hope this is a firmware issue and a new one will fix?
 
Anyone running version 2.0.8 on here? any issues? I am still working through this thing...it's very strange, and random.
 
Never seen that on 2.0.5, which I'm still on. Once in a while it will freeze up while navigating, but haven't had a single record error.
 
Obin, I'm running 2.0.8 and I got the message you received when I failed to power down the Redmote before attaching it to the camera. I shut down the camera and Redmote, took the Redmote off and power cycled the camera. The Redmote would not wirelessly connect to the camera so I shut it off, put it on the camera, and powered up the camera again. The camera has worked fine since then and when I tried to use the Redmote wirelessly it gave me the prompt to rescan. I hit default instead and the Redmote works as before.
 
very weird, random fails to record, and then sometimes purple spots in recorded footage, and then fails to playback...can't pin it down, have tried a lot of stuff, settings etc...always random it seems like, and then at times it will not format cards. 2 64gig ssd cards
 
Don't have a redmote here....just red bricks powering it with the cable adapter, a cube for wireless HD and a radio follow focus. have disconnected them all.....still it's acting all weird. even took off the SSD module and reconnected it. same thing.
 
I wonder if reinstalling your firmware would help?
 
I haven't been doing any heavy shooting with the firmare 2.0.8. Just trying out some different frame rates etc., but other than the one time, no issues with 2.0.8
 
Please be sure to send in your log files as suggested by the error message so we can take a look.
 
I just sent up the latest log after install of beta 2.0.8 firmware...and a corrupt r3d file as well...going to Brian@red... let me know whats up. gotta shoot next week, need a reliable camera for it. I know tomorrow is friday, maybe I could get some hands on attention on this matter tomorrow? I will call in and see, camera has been this way since I opened the box and did my first test records a few days ago. thanks guys
