  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X "Futurist" Stage-4 Has Arrived.

Brian my friend.

Its been a journey up until now. And I guess the next part of the journey starts right now. If I look back to December 2009, back at REDucation 003, we've all come a long way since then. That drive will stick in my mind for years to come (most.... entertaining) but since then, I have made many new friends, both from REDucation and on REDuser. It seems weird that I think of this place as a second home and an extended family, but everyone here shares a common goal and vision. These are great tools, amazing tools, to help to create that vision.

You have been a source of inspiration and you have helped me more than you realise.

Thank you my friend.

:))

Congrats Steve,

We have already talked about this... and it still seems like yesterday when we sat in Reducation 003 and took the drive to RED... your thoughts a bit different in direction with details of camera and other red projects with specs changing... but the outcome all the better now!

A little faith and a vision can take you a long way my friend.

You know, I have never been let down by this company or its products of which I have purchased since my original REDONE the RPP glass and other items all of which I still use... then Epic X stage two and even more purchases.
Never once feeling let down on expectations.

My expectation is that I will be happy with what I can produce from these cameras. Each time is a Yes.

If anything was wrong it was my understanding on something but REDUSER and Reducation have been great certain individuals have (not naming them all) been a big help! Your journey is about to really kick off of which I wish (although you already know!) the very best for you and your projects.

Cheers!

Brian

Skimming the internet again Andy!!!!

:))

LOL - we did a video, it will probably be up on Thursday. My friend Barry shot it on his *cough 5D, so he's going to transcode and I'll edit it up and get it posted. Its quite boring really, nothing new, except a silly Scouser getting excited over his new toy. LOL.

Now, get back to work!!!

:))

Steve

I'm on a teabreak again...

Just checked back for the unboxing video... nothing yet - hurry up!!!

LOL

But I'm on an extended tea break! :)

I keep my 'net machine away from my workstations to stop casual surfing... I just seem to have more tea breaks now - LOL.

Well - if there's no video - what about some stills? I want to see that big Stage4 smile!

OK, must get back to work now...

Almost ending my latest break... was hoping for pix... but looking forward to the Xmas style excitement that'll be etched on your (grinning) face :)

Keep updating!

You're alive... you survived your first night with 'Futurist'... is she all you expected?

And more...

She's a beauty. Doing the asset register today with all the gear, then marking everything. Playtime will come, but everything about the EPIC, is well, EPIC.

Very impressed with the RED Matte Box and Top Flag. Very light. The new 17-50 lens is very nice, yet still the same. Think I'll need a longer EVF cable as the one that comes with the LCD Touchscreen is a little short for my setup. Swat Rail 100mm and the top handle are really nice.

And there's not too much on backorder, just the REDmote and the DSMC Side Handle. Touchscreen seems a little more responsive than I remember.

Did notice that its still running 1.7.? firmware, so a firmware upgrade will be needed to bring it up to date. Didn't want to do that last night after a "few" drinks :))

Worth the wait :))

Again, thanks to Brady Stone at RED Europe for sorting everything for me - he's a star and is owed a few drinks when I'm down for REDucation UK in September.

:))

Happy for you Steve... but stupendously pissed off at RED at the same time.

Petri,

I appreciate that. I have been following your posts and I can totally understand your view point on the stages.

Thank you Steve for those kind words. The beers are on me if we ever meet.
