Seriously, you are my hero!

If anybody wants any other specific R3D's from my first week test (the youtube link above), please let me know, I am happy to provide.

Thanks Brian. I was messing around with that and having troubles with 4K exports. I am on a PC using the Adobe Suite. If you have any recommendations for a good 4K export settings/codec for youtube, it would be very helpful and then I can upload future tests and videos in 4K ;)

Quicktime Uncompressed 4:22 10 Bit seems to be the best option right now for PC users.
I am however looking into a conversion solution that another user posted for converting Quicktime Uncompressed to ProRes HQ on a PC
*If anyone else knows how this is done please feel free to chime in!

Does anyone have interview footage with an audio track yet? I would be really interested in an interview sample. Thanks guys!

I actually conducted some tests a few days ago to see what formats YouTube accepts (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?70894-YouTube-Video-Codecs-Resolutions-amp-Data-Rates). If you're on a PC and have a fast Internet connection, you can upload QuickTime Uncompressed 8/10-bit 4:2:2 files to YouTube. Keep in mind that YouTube has a 20GB file size limit, though. If it's a longer video, QT Uncompressed will probably produce too large of a file, so ProRes would be your best option. YouTube accepts all ProRes formats at any resolution up to 4096x2304. I personally haven't tried encoding to ProRes on Windows yet, but I've heard that there are ways of doing it. If you look at some of the posts in that thread, there was a mini-discussion on how to convert to ProRes on Windows, so hopefully that will help a little.

Another (less ideal) possibility is to just upload a High Profile Level 5.1 H.264 multi-pass-encoded file with a high data rate of between 50-75 Mbps. While the quality would still be less than that of a ProRes file, it would allow you to upload some longer videos to YouTube. If you decide to go with H.264, there's a few things you should know. The first is that H.264 Level 5.1 only supports up to 4096x2048 at 30 fps or 4096x2304 at 26.7 fps. Frames rates can't be higher than that at those resolutions. Also, QuickTime can't encode above H.264 Level 4.1. So if you're converting with QuickTime, you're limited to a maximum of High Profile Level 4.1 at a data rate of 32,768 Kbps. You can use MainConcept's H.264 encoder (available in Sorenson Squeeze) as that supports up to High Profile Level 5.1 at a data rate of about 75 Mbps.

Thanks Guys, that is really helpful information.

Andrew, I may have some interview footage with audio recorded in Camera using the wooden A-Box that I'm allowed to post here in the next week. Stay Tuned. I have been happy with the audio quality I'm getting through the Scarlet/A-Box combo. No audio in premiere is a pain, but a quick BWF export in Red Cine-X solves it quickly and easily.

Thanks Tyler,

I read in another thread that their is a "hack" that will allow premiere to import the audio, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet as I do not have a Scarlet clip with audio. Check for this work around in the Workflow Adobe section.

maybe you tried to download the folder containing the footage. Simply open each folder and download.

Many thanks to Marceli Gawrys and Tyler Bourns for this footage and making it possible for download. This is not usual, raw footage is still quite rare despite so many cameras in existence.

EDIT: ups, Marceli was faster.

Thank you for doing this. This is awesome.

Can some people please upload some r3ds showing off skin tone and close ups on people with Canon L Series lenses. I'd really like to toy around with those. Regular light and low light would be nice as well.

Justin Harrison just uploaded HDRX 5K timelapse from NYC. Main post edited. here is the link: http://ecorecord.pl/redscarlet/Justin_Harrison/ huge file (3,1gb) RMD included. Enjoy!

And thank you Justin !!!

still waiting for sample footage from Scarlet-X. contact me at margawry (at) gmail (dot) com so I`ll send you ftp access to upload your test footage.

Greetings!

Do any of the R3D files have audio? I really need a short clip to test!!!

Thank you very much for arranging this.

I am unable to download these files. Right-clicking doesn't work for me. Is there another way?

I figured this is as good a thread as any to post my footage. Didn't really see a place to put general footage and I figured there's enough threads out there already for individual cameras without adding one more.

Video is privated at the moment as it's a work in progress. We'll be 3D tracking and adding 3D motion graphics into the final video. Not to mention just a lot more content... (mixed promo video for our production company and a local branding company)

Most shots are 4k 24 fps edited in Premiere Pro 5.5 and then down converted to 1080.

The shot of the four people sitting on the chairs is 2k 60 fps.

Lenses used were mostly Nikon 17 - 35mm f2.8 and Tokina 11 - 16mm f2.8

Also played with my Nikon 85 and 35 f1.4 but none of that footage is in this short montage.

Dolly is a Micro Dolly.
Tripod is a Manfrotto 516

I believe the exposure was iso 800, ND .6 or .3 (depending on the area of the room) with a RedRock Mattebox, a few issues as noted in the videos description. This was our first shoot with the scarlet and we're loving what we're seeing so far.

I'll be out of town for the next few days but if someone wants to play with a specific clip I can probably pass along a small raw file.
